Bulega ready for his second MotoGP appearance – and a brief reunion with Toprak after the Valencian GP
The final MotoGP weekend of 2025 in Valencia will once again feature a familiar name from the WorldSBK paddock. Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) is set for his second Grand Prix appearance, following his impressive debut in Portimao, where he finished in the points in P15.
Bulega stepped in after World Champion Marc Márquez was ruled out of the remaining races due to a shoulder injury sustained at the Indonesian GP. Despite facing a steep learning curve – including completing his very first laps on a hard front tyre – Bulega showed promise and quick adaptation.
Looking ahead to Valencia, Bulega remains optimistic: “I now have one weekend of experience, so I hope to start a bit better. A podium is probably too optimistic for now, but I learned a lot. It’s a technical track, especially on a MotoGP bike. I’ll try to understand as much as I can on Friday and put it all together for Saturday and Sunday.”
Reunion of former rivals: Bulega and Toprak meet again
Once the Grand Prix weekend concludes, both riders will stay in Valencia for testing. Toprak Razgatlioglu will be on track with his new Prima Pramac Yamaha team as preparation for next season. Bulega is looking forward to seeing his former WorldSBK rival again: “When I saw he tested the MotoGP bike in Aragon, I realised we would meet again next week. It will be nice.”
For MotoGP and WorldSBK fans, this is an exciting crossover moment: two of the biggest names from recent WorldSBK seasons briefly reunited in the MotoGP paddock.
